The Building Bridges in Education in Malta (BBEM) project aims to modernize education. Specifically, it equips teachers with modern, active teaching methods and digital tools. However, transitioning from traditional practices to contemporary approaches remains a challenge. This is true even though many educators recognize the value of student-centered, innovative pedagogies.
For instance, Malta is an education system actively seeking modern pedagogical methods. Therefore, it serves as an ideal setting for this initiative.
Erasmus+
Empowering Teachers with Erasmus+
Teachers need more opportunities to engage in active, hands-on professional development. Furthermore, this training must empower them as innovators in their field. Unfortunately, traditional training methods often fail to provide dynamic, collaborative, and practical learning experiences.
As a result, there is a growing need for new models of professional development. Educational events must encourage teachers to actively drive their own learning. To address this, the project fosters collaboration between international partners. Consequently, these partners learn how to organize impactful educational events. In the end, this promotes access to engaging and sustainable professional growth.
Driving Sustainable Innovation
BBEM project drives sustainable innovation in education by:
- Empowering teachers as innovators through practical training in digital tools.
- Strengthening international exchange of ideas. For instance, allowing educators in Malta to learn about Finnish educational approaches.
- Establishing new, engaging professional development models. A clear example is the educational fair “Pedagogy in Action: The Malta Teaching Festival”, which introduces a highly interactive way to train teachers.
- Providing a scalable blueprint for organizing meaningful, teacher-focused events that promote active participation.
Long-Term Impact
By supporting this initiative, ETE Academy and LessonApp help promote modern pedagogy in Malta. Through Erasmus+, they ensure educators have the necessary resources and skills. Moreover, teachers gain the professional networks needed to inspire the next generation of learners.
Ultimately, the project’s impact will extend beyond its immediate participants. It will lay a strong foundation for long-term transformation in teaching practices and event organization.
